Reason to Use / How It Works 

The defining ingredient here is Shankha Bhasma — purified conch shell ash, which is calcium-carbonate-rich and acts as a fast, natural antacid, buffering excess stomach acid almost immediately upon ingestion. This is paired with Hingu and Trikatu, which reignite digestive fire (Agni) so that the underlying sluggish digestion causing the acidity is also addressed, not just the symptom of excess acid.

This dual action — immediate acid-buffering plus digestive correction — is why Shankh Vati is reached for specifically when a patient needs quick relief from acidity, gas, or a bloated, heavy stomach after a heavy meal, rather than for chronic, deep-seated Pitta disorders (where Avipattikar Churna would be more appropriate). Because the formula includes salts (Panch Lavana), it's generally used for shorter, defined courses with attention to blood pressure in sensitive individuals.

Dosage 

Take 1–2 tablets, 1–2 times daily, before or after meals, preferably with lukewarm water, or as directed by a physician.
